Marin Plemmons

Ph.D. Student, Applied Physiology, Georgia Institute of Technology (2023- Present)
DPT Physical Therapy, Emory University (2024)
B.S. Exercise Physiology, University of Montana (2021)
Marin plans to apply what she learned while earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy to further rehabilitative evidence-based practice. In the lab, she is working to establish an inverse dynamics model for rats, which will be the first of its kind. Her role in this goal is to develop a segment inertia model in rats using gross dissection techniques for the purpose of better understanding gait mechanics in the most common scientific test subject. Her long term goals include integrating neuro-rehabilitation and biomechanics to improve our understanding of movement in comparative models and humans.
In her free time, Marin enjoys exercising, cooking, crafting and traveling toward the west coast where many of her friends and family still reside.
